Take a good look at God’s wonders in 2025

Take a good look at God’s wonders— they’ll take our breath away.

Reference: Ps 66

The path through 2025 is hardly ever smooth—marked by bumps, highs, and lows—yet the central, unshakeable truth remains: God hears, and God has attended to the voice of our prayers. That alone is a testimony worthy of all praise.

The good news is that like David we can happily say that certainly God has heard us, He has attended to the voice of our prayers. We are not silent beneficiaries; we are proclaiming witnesses. Glory to the Lord.

The Sovereign God: He turned the sea into dry land (Moses Ex 14:21-22); He helped us cross the river on foot (Joshua 3:14-17); He smites; God has tested us; He has tried us like silver—refined and purified; we cried out, and He heard us; Blessed be God, who has not rejected our prayer nor removed His mercy and loving-kindness from us. Hallelujah

The Scope of His Care: He is terrible (awesome) in His doings, ruling over nations, yet His eye is also on the individual. He is the macro and micro God. The same power that governs history is tenderly attentive to your specific prayer and need. He has not removed His attention—His covenant-lovingkindness and mercy.

The Sacrifice of thanksgiving: Deuteronomy 10:21: "He is your praise." This is the summit. Our praise is not just for what He has done, but it is ultimately Himself. He is the object, source, and reason for our gratitude. The "great and awesome wonders" we have seen with our own eyes in 2025 are simply revelations of who He is.

David calls us to join with him to Bless our God, give Him grateful thanks. He determined to make the voice of His praise be heard. Amen.

Our Adonai, Almighty God, With hearts full and voices united, we come to declare Your goodness. As we stand at the close of this year, we look back—and the greatest truth rises above every bump and bend: You heard us. You attended to our prayers. For this alone, we give You Glory.

Faithful God, our Keeper, we thank You for seeing, knowing, and caring. As Your Word says: You are our praise. We thank You not just for what You’ve done, but for who You are—the source, the objective, the reason for all our thanks. With David, we join our voices to bless You and make our Praise heard.

Now, as we look to 2026 and beyond, we do so with expectation. Your faithfulness this year is just the beginning. We trust Your everlasting care. Guide our steps, refine us for Your purpose, and let our lives be a continual offering of thanks. In the mighty and Praiseworthy Name of Jesus Christ, we Pray, Amen.

Merry Christmas 2025 & Happy New Year 2026

τηρήσετε (tērēsete)- you will guard, keep watch over Reference: John 14:15 — "If you love me, keep my commandments" — sits at a hinge point in Jesus's Farewell discourse, right before HE promises the Holy Spirit (the "Advocate"/Paraclete). Root verb: τηρέω (tēreō) — not the more common Greek word for "obey" (peithomai/hypakouō, meaning to submit to authority), but a word that literally means "to guard," "to watch over," "to keep watch". It's the word used for a guard keeping watch at a post, or someone safeguarding a treasure. Love is defined by obedience, not sentiment. Jesus doesn't say "if you love me, feel devoted to me" — he ties love to concrete action. In John's Gospel, love is verifiable; it shows up in behaviour, not just emotion. The Greek verb for "keep" (tērēsete) is future tense and follows a conditional — love isn't presented as a prerequisite for a transaction ("obey...
