But First and then from what's Left

Scripture reference: 1 Kg 17 & Lk 4:25-26

This is the Simple principle that JESUS and the Bible teaching us! In a drought situation, after God asked Elijah to pray to shut the skies for 3 and half years, our YHWH had a plan to bring the situation to a closure too- Hence this principle is very significant to trust HIM and HIS guidance 100%.

God prepared Elijah and guided him to Zarephath to meet a particular widow. Jesus referenced this event in His teaching in Luke 4:25-26, when the people failed to honor Him or His miracles. Our God is a God of precision, who may not provide all the details upfront, but when we trust Him in faith, He will lead us step by step.

Tough situation, demands tough decision but thorough focus.

Elijah had nothing to lose in a dry, foodless situation, so he decided to follow God's instructions. As he entered the village, he encountered a woman gathering firewood—a miraculous moment. Guided by God, he recognized her and asked for a drink of water. As she went to fetch it, he called out with a second request: "Would you bring me something to eat?" This was indeed a bold question given the circumstances.

Hence she explained - In the Name of the living Lord YOUR GOD, I do not have any bread. All I have is a handful of flour and a little olive oil. I am on my home now with these few sticks to cook what I have for my son and me. After that we will starve to death!

Elijah said to her, "Do not be afraid. Don't worry about anything; everything will be fine. Go ahead and do as you said, but first make a small biscuit for me and bring it to me. Then, use what's left for you, your son, and your family." (We can make such clear statements when we are 100% prompted by God.)

The WORD of GOD shared with her- The Jar of flour will not run out, the bottle of oil will not become empty, BEFORE God sends rain on the land and ends its drought.

The blessing starts with the obedience. She went away and did as Elijah had told her, as a result, there was food every day for Elijah, for her and her family. God plan was to prosper her not to eat last meal and starve to death.

Dear Father, thank You for teaching us to trust You in every season. It’s clear that You show no favouritism. It doesn’t matter who we are or where we come from; if we seek You and follow Your ways, the door is open for all. Thank You for this global invitation that breaks barriers and draws even the least likely closer to You. Thank You for reminding us that our obedience brings provision, and Your Grace multiplies in our lives. Revival began when the woman shared her first biscuit with Elijah as You instructed during her difficult time. You never abandon the righteous or their children. Thank You for reserving Your people instead of rejecting them. You have numbered our days and hairs, and You see our tears, fears, and future. We are unique, Your original masterpiece, worth more than anyone else’s opinion. What matters most is that we belong to You, and You are ours. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Boldness

Boldness Reference: Heb 4:12-16 We do not have to tiptoe toward God. We can always enter His presence—not only when in need, full, or facing challenges. His Word pierces soul and spirit, joints and marrow. He knows our thoughts and intentions before we ask or think. So the author of Hebrews urges us: boldly approach the throne of Grace. Receive daily bread, seasonal help, mercies, and Grace He has already arranged. In time of need, at the right time, He will help us. As Peter assured, submit obediently in His hand. Confidence: Not because the week went well. Not because your prayers feel mature. Because the curtain tore. Confidence isn't arrogance. It's knowing God left the door open.  The barrier didn't get thin—it split wide open. The King on the throne is also our High Priest. He knows our weakness from the inside. We are not interrupting Him. We have been invited. Gentle invitation. Urgent invitation. If Grace finds us and fills the room, what happens to the pressure to...

The Lifestyle of David - Faith, Trust and Prayer

The Lifestyle of David - Faith, Trust and Prayer Reference - 1 Sam 17, Ps 59 and 2 Sam 15 David was known as a man after God’s own heart, as witnessed by God Himself. The Bible reveals many reasons for this, but one of the most notable is his unwavering faith—trusting God completely and placing all his hope in the One who is more than able to guide him. I would like to discuss three scenarios and observe his responses to inspire our faith and draw us closer to Him. 1) When the Israelite army fled from Goliath, David stood his ground, boldly declaring the giant’s defeat before the fight even began, trusting entirely in the Name of the Lord rather than physical weapons. With a single stone, David struck Goliath down, vindicated God’s Name, routed the Philistine army, and proved to all that the battle belongs to the Lord. He proclaimed victory before the clash, relying not on spear, sword, or javelin, but on the Lord’s power. David said, in 1 Sam 17:45-47, “You come against me with sword,...

Prayer is tactical, transactional and transformative practice in the Bible.

Yes, prayer in the Bible is indeed **tactical**, **transactional**, and **transformative**. Each of these aspects highlights a different dimension of prayer, showing its depth and power in the life of a believer. Let’s explore these three dimensions with biblical examples and insights: --- ### **1. Prayer is Tactical** Prayer is a **spiritual weapon** and a strategic tool in the believer’s life. It is used to engage in spiritual warfare, seek God’s guidance, and advance His kingdom. - **Biblical Example**: **Ephesians 6:18**     Paul instructs believers to "pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests." This is part of the "armor of God," showing that prayer is a tactical weapon in spiritual battles.    - **Application**:     Prayer is not passive; it is an active, intentional practice to combat evil, break strongholds, and bring God’s will to earth. It is a way to align ourselves with God’s strategies and overcome th...
