The Power of Praise

Shabbat Shalom from Kent, London- 19Sep2025

The Power of Praise

Scripture Reference: Ps 8:1-2

For David, it is both a fundamental habit and a way of life, something deeply ingrained since his early teenage years through political activities that shaped his journey, leading to his anointment as King and his remarkable leadership over the people for an impressive forty years.

Ps 8:1- O LORD Our GOD, How excellent is Thy NAME in all Earth! You have set Your Glory above the heavens. You have displayed, revealed Your Majesty. Your Glory is higher than Heavens. Your Name is most wonderful Name in all the earth! Amen.

The secret revealed in Verse 2 is that the LORD has built a stronghold through the praise from the mouths of His children. Through the Praise of Children, You have silenced Your enemies and destroyed those who try to get even! Hallelujah. In other words, when we praise Him, He builds a fortress, silencing enemies, removing avengers, making foes flee, quieting opposition, and reversing the situation.

The Bible contains many references to those who praised and trusted God, leading them to great deliverance.

  • Judah: Praised God, enemies destroyed themselves.
  • Joshua: Praised with a shout, walls fell.
  • Paul and Silas: Praised God, earthquake freed them.
  • Hannah: Praised God, received a prophet son.
  • David: Praised God, became Israel's king.
  • Job: Praised in loss, God gave double for his troubles.
  • Daniel: Worshiped God, lions' mouths were shut.
  • Joseph: Remained faithful, rose to great power.
  • Esther: Fasted, saved her people from death.
  • Hezekiah: Worshipped, Assyrian army was struck down.
  • Miriam: Praised God for freedom from slavery.
  • The Leper: Thanked Jesus, received complete healing.
  • Anna: Worshipped daily, saw the Messiah.
  • Mary: Praised God, became His divine vessel.
  • The Blind Man: Praised Jesus, silenced his opposition.
  • The Woman with Alabaster Oil: Worshipped Jesus with her devotion.
  • Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego: Praised God, walked through fire.
  • The Canaanite Woman: Worshipped, her daughter was healed.
EACH ONE PRAISED THROUGH PAIN, GOD TURNED IT INTO POWER.

Praise is not just a response to victory- It's often the catalyst for it. When the worship rises in the fire, deliverance follows...Praise is not just a rituals but it's a weapon. Praise is not just a act but strategy- Praise is our declaration that GOD is STILL on Thrown. Amen. Hallelujah.

Praise is what we do when we can not do anything else - TD Jakes.

NO ONE WHO HOPES IN YOU WILL EVER BE PUT TO SHAME - PS 25:3

Peace be upon the State of Israel and us. Shalom. Have a Good Weekend.

τηρήσετε (tērēsete)- you will guard, keep watch over Reference: John 14:15 — "If you love me, keep my commandments" — sits at a hinge point in Jesus's Farewell discourse, right before HE promises the Holy Spirit (the "Advocate"/Paraclete). Root verb: τηρέω (tēreō) — not the more common Greek word for "obey" (peithomai/hypakouō, meaning to submit to authority), but a word that literally means "to guard," "to watch over," "to keep watch". It's the word used for a guard keeping watch at a post, or someone safeguarding a treasure. Love is defined by obedience, not sentiment. Jesus doesn't say "if you love me, feel devoted to me" — he ties love to concrete action. In John's Gospel, love is verifiable; it shows up in behaviour, not just emotion. The Greek verb for "keep" (tērēsete) is future tense and follows a conditional — love isn't presented as a prerequisite for a transaction ("obey...
