Call to Purpose

Shabbat Shalom from Kent, London- 29Aug2025

CALL to PURPOSE

Scripture Reference: 1 Sam 3

This scripture highlights the remarkable journey of young Samuel, who matures into Prophet Samuel and guides the nation of Israel in alignment with the Lord's divine plan. The Boy Samuel was attending, ministering, helping the service under the supervision of Eli. This is an arrangement intentionally made by the Lord for the boy to be guided by the elder Eli. This arrangement helped Samuel recognize and understand God's calling when he was hearing it to break the cycle of silence, rare revelation of the divine truth and very very few, infrequence messages from the Lord.

This is the secret that I learned over the years. God's Presence is everywhere. When we align with Him for His purpose that He intended to do, a new connection, a guidance, a calling will be given to respond. When we respond to the Lord's Voice, submit to His purpose, anything can happen. Amen!.

It can be respectfully observed that 1 and 2 Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles offer insights into this framework. While the Lord's power makes all things possible, He calls upon us to align ourselves with Him so that He can guide us through the process, provide direction, unveil our calling, and instruct us on how to fulfil such assignments.

Samuel’s mother dedicated him to the Lord as part of her vow, creating a new bond with Priest Eli. The boy was entrusted to Eli’s care to develop discernment and learn to recognize the Lord’s voice. History proved that Eli needs Samuel more than Samuel needs him. Samuel was curious to learn the Lord, adventure to know unknown, expect the unexpected. However Eli's willingness to direct the Boy Samuel into the God's call is the quality of the Leadership

  • Samuel needs from Eli - Discernment, Wisdom to hear the Lord
  • Eli needs from Samuel - Curiosity, Adventure to know unknown

Each of them played a significant role to teach us the life lesson- Iron shaping an iron- When God called the boy, he ran to Eli 3 times. Eli understood, realised, perceived who was calling the Boy and told him, If He calls you again, When He calls you say - Speak LORD for your servant is listening and What do you want me to do? God said to Samuel that

  • HE is about to a thing in Israel that is going to shake everyone up and get their attention.
  • God told about Eli's family and his failure to rebuke the sinful behaviour which he knew and he did not stop them.

Let Eli's response be our Prayer today, this season: Father God, it's You, You are in control of our lives, May YOU do what seems good to YOU. We let ourselves completely in YOUR care to do whatever YOU think best and good in YOUR eyes. we are ready to get up and go into the city and wait for your guidance as Paul waited and encouraged earlier churches. Help us listen to the whisper, the gentle voice of YOURS, just as Elijah did. We are faithfully following the path of obedience, just as Isaiah, Jacob, Moses, Job, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel did during their lifetimes, impacting and transforming the lives of countless individuals.. Thank you for the assurance given through John (10:27) that My Sheep listens to My Voice - I know them and they follow ME. Yes Lord, we are longing for such closeness and lead us into Your Purpose. Thank you for Your call in our lives. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Peace be upon the State of Israel and us. Shalom. Have a Good Weekend.

Boldness

Boldness Reference: Heb 4:12-16 We do not have to tiptoe toward God. We can always enter His presence—not only when in need, full, or facing challenges. His Word pierces soul and spirit, joints and marrow. He knows our thoughts and intentions before we ask or think. So the author of Hebrews urges us: boldly approach the throne of Grace. Receive daily bread, seasonal help, mercies, and Grace He has already arranged. In time of need, at the right time, He will help us. As Peter assured, submit obediently in His hand. Confidence: Not because the week went well. Not because your prayers feel mature. Because the curtain tore. Confidence isn't arrogance. It's knowing God left the door open.  The barrier didn't get thin—it split wide open. The King on the throne is also our High Priest. He knows our weakness from the inside. We are not interrupting Him. We have been invited. Gentle invitation. Urgent invitation. If Grace finds us and fills the room, what happens to the pressure to...

The Lifestyle of David - Faith, Trust and Prayer

The Lifestyle of David - Faith, Trust and Prayer Reference - 1 Sam 17, Ps 59 and 2 Sam 15 David was known as a man after God’s own heart, as witnessed by God Himself. The Bible reveals many reasons for this, but one of the most notable is his unwavering faith—trusting God completely and placing all his hope in the One who is more than able to guide him. I would like to discuss three scenarios and observe his responses to inspire our faith and draw us closer to Him. 1) When the Israelite army fled from Goliath, David stood his ground, boldly declaring the giant’s defeat before the fight even began, trusting entirely in the Name of the Lord rather than physical weapons. With a single stone, David struck Goliath down, vindicated God’s Name, routed the Philistine army, and proved to all that the battle belongs to the Lord. He proclaimed victory before the clash, relying not on spear, sword, or javelin, but on the Lord’s power. David said, in 1 Sam 17:45-47, “You come against me with sword,...

Prayer is tactical, transactional and transformative practice in the Bible.

Yes, prayer in the Bible is indeed **tactical**, **transactional**, and **transformative**. Each of these aspects highlights a different dimension of prayer, showing its depth and power in the life of a believer. Let’s explore these three dimensions with biblical examples and insights: --- ### **1. Prayer is Tactical** Prayer is a **spiritual weapon** and a strategic tool in the believer’s life. It is used to engage in spiritual warfare, seek God’s guidance, and advance His kingdom. - **Biblical Example**: **Ephesians 6:18**     Paul instructs believers to "pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests." This is part of the "armor of God," showing that prayer is a tactical weapon in spiritual battles.    - **Application**:     Prayer is not passive; it is an active, intentional practice to combat evil, break strongholds, and bring God’s will to earth. It is a way to align ourselves with God’s strategies and overcome th...
