Intercessory Prayer – "Like Jesus" - Oct 2026

Like Jesus

Subject: You’re Invited: Intercessory Prayer – "Like Jesus" (Oct 3rd)

Date: Saturday, 03 October 2026

Time: 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM

Location: BCC Bromley, The Upper Room

"God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with great power; and He went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with Him." — Acts 10:38 (AMP)

Join us this month as we gather to seek the Father’s face and align our hearts with the rhythm of Heaven.

Our meditation for this session is drawn from Acts 10:38. It is a verse that reveals the secret of a fruitful life: Presence leads to Power.

We are called to a sequence of living that mirrors Christ Himself. We must first Receive the anointing, then Go into the world, and Heal the oppressed. But we do not do this in our own strength. The secret ingredient—the very reason Jesus walked in victory—was that God was with Him.

As we intercede, we are asking to be like Jesus in every facet of our being. Not just in what we do, but in who we are. We want to walk, lead, pray, love, think, act, look, smell, serve, and become the heart and hands of Christ.

Our Focus:

· Receive: The anointing of the Holy Spirit and power.
· Go: Around doing good, just as He did.
· Heal: The brokenhearted and those oppressed by the enemy.
· Seek: The Father’s presence above all else.

Come ready to press in. Come ready to be changed from the inside out. Let us learn to live like Jesus, because the secret is that God is with us.

"Being like Jesus..... Receive, Go, Heal, Seek Him and the Father."

We look forward to seeing you in the Upper Room.

Blessings,

Subject: Reminder: Intercessory Prayer This Saturday, 7:00 AM, The Upper Room

Dear Church Family,

This is a reminder that our Intercessory Prayer, "Like Jesus," is this Saturday, 3 October 2026, 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM at BCC Bromley, The Upper Room.

"God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with great power; and He went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with Him." (Acts 10:38, AMP)

Why this gathering matters now

The latest Prime update across our ministry areas compels us to increase our intercession. We are praying to win deals and to see real advancement in the health, equipping and missional areas of our ministries. Doors will open and strategies will be established as we go to God first, because Presence leads to Power.

Our focus

Receive: The anointing of the Holy Spirit and power.
Go: Around doing good, just as He did.
Heal: The brokenhearted and those oppressed by the enemy.
Seek: The Father's presence above all else.

We are also coming to check in with our God for seasonal guidance and breakthrough, so that we move in step with Heaven's timing and direction.

Please come ready to press in and be changed from the inside out. If you serve in any of these ministry areas, your voice in the Upper Room is needed.

"Being like Jesus... Receive, Go, Heal, Seek like Him the Father."

We look forward to seeing you there.

Intercession Summary - Oct 2026 - Foundation: Anointed for Mission::

Acts 10:38 (AMP): God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and power, and that power showed up as doing good and healing the oppressed, because God was with Him.

πŸ™Œ Praise Point:: 11 warriors turned up to intercede. Praise God!

πŸ“… Next Session:: Saturday, 07 November 2026

🀝 Invitation:: Please refer this session to someone who would like to join our intercession. Bring a friend, a family member or a fellow believer, because every gap-stander counts!

One-line takeaway: Jesus was anointed with the Great Power to do good, so we rise as watchmen, stand in the gap, and put that power to work now.

Urgency: Watchman and Gap-Standers

  • Ezekiel 22:30-31: God looks for someone to stand in the gap, and judgment falls when no one does.
  • 2 Kings 7:8-9: The lepers saw that keeping good news to themselves was wrong, so they went and told the king's household.
  • Jeremiah 48:10: Half-hearted obedience is serious, so we must do God's work wholeheartedly.
  • John 17:18: We are commissioned to represent Christ as He represented the Father.
  • Jeremiah 9:1: A true watchman carries a burden of tears for the people.
  • Joel 2:17: Priests are called to weep and intercede between the porch and the altar.
  • Ezekiel 3:18: Failing to warn others carries accountability.
  • Esther 4:13-14: Silence is not safe, and we were positioned "for such a time as this."

Great Power: Moving in the Right Direction

  • Physics link: Power = Work ÷ Time. Power is meant to be used, and used in time.
  • 1 Cor 2:11: Only God's Spirit knows God's thoughts, so we ask for power to move in the right direction.
  • Heb 12:28-29: God shakes what is comfortable, and we respond with reverent worship, prayer, intercession and evangelism.
  • Ps 122:1-2: Joy in going to the house of the Lord together.
  • Numbers 29: the principle of continuing to bring an offering of Praise and Worship to the LORD.

Conclusion: Be Like Jesus:: 2 Cor 10:3-6 (MSG): Our God-given tools demolish warped thinking and barriers to truth, bring every thought and impulse under Christ, and build lives of obedience into maturity. Hallelujah!

Have a great October 2026! God bless you all. πŸ™

A Prayer to the God of my life

A Prayer to the God of my life Reference: Psalm 42:8 (AMP) - Yet the Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night His song will be with me, A prayer to the God of my life. David was in a difficult situation and difficult circumstances. Yet he was declaring words to his soul, to see beyond the situation he was in, by His Grace, Kindness, and Mercies. He isn't in the temple when he writes this. He's far from it, cut off, surrounded by memory instead of presence . And in that distance, he does something remarkable: he turns and speaks to his own soul instead of just feeling what it feels. He doesn't wait for the ache to lift before choosing hope. He commands himself toward praise while still in it. That's the real shape of trust: he remembers God "from the land of Jordan and the heights of Hermon." Those aren't random landmarks. Jordan is where Israel crossed into everything God had promised, the river of breakthrough, where impossibl...

Two expressions of surrender

Two expressions of surrender. Reference  Esther 4:16 - if I perish, I perish. Esther 8:17 - because the fear of Jews seized the people  Ruth 1: 16-17 - ...your God my God.... Ruth 4:17 - A Son born to Naomi (through Boaz & Ruth) they named him Obed, the father of Jesse and David ( genealogy of Jesus) The challenges we face shouldn’t keep us from trusting Him, because God never stops working in those moments. His promises, purpose, and presence are always there for us to hold onto if we’re willing to open our hearts to Him. Esther’s life was far from easy or comfortable; she lost her parents and was cared for by her uncle Mordecai. By God’s favour, she was brought into the palace at Susa. Responding to a timely call, she joined her uncle through three days of prayer and fasting before carefully presenting her case to the king to seek his intervention. Her plea was heartfelt: “We’ve been sold, I and my people, to be destroyed—sold to be massacred, eliminated. If we had merel...

What Happens When You Throw Open Your Doors?

What Happens When You Throw Open Your Doors? Reference: Romans 5:1-2 (MSG):  “By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us—set us right with him, make us fit for him—we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus. And that’s not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that He has already thrown open His door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand—out in the wide open spaces of God’s Grace and Glory, standing tall and shouting our Praise.” In everyday English, to “throw open” something means to open it wide, suddenly, and without hesitation—not just a crack or a cautious peek, but a full swing, unlatched and unbolted. It suggests dropping all defences—no ID checks at the door, no chain left fastened. It mixes vulnerability with welcome, like pulling back curtains to let morning light pour into a dark room, or swinging open your front door to greet a long-missed friend. By contrast, a ...
