Two expressions of surrender

Two expressions of surrender.

Reference
Esther 4:16 - if I perish, I perish.
Esther 8:17 - because the fear of Jews seized the people
Ruth 1: 16-17 - ...your God my God....
Ruth 4:17 - A Son born to Naomi (through Boaz & Ruth) they named him Obed, the father of Jesse and David ( genealogy of Jesus)

The challenges we face shouldn’t keep us from trusting Him, because God never stops working in those moments. His promises, purpose, and presence are always there for us to hold onto if we’re willing to open our hearts to Him.

Esther’s life was far from easy or comfortable; she lost her parents and was cared for by her uncle Mordecai. By God’s favour, she was brought into the palace at Susa. Responding to a timely call, she joined her uncle through three days of prayer and fasting before carefully presenting her case to the king to seek his intervention. Her plea was heartfelt: “We’ve been sold, I and my people, to be destroyed—sold to be massacred, eliminated. If we had merely been sold into slavery, I would not have troubled the king; our plight would not have been worth mentioning.” Justice prevailed when Haman was eliminated, and Mordecai emerged from the king’s presence wearing a royal robe of violet and white, a large gold crown, and a purple cape of fine linen. The city of Susa erupted in joy, and for the Jews it was a time of celebration, laughter, and honor.

Surrender, submit, trust, and succeed.

Ruth replied, “Do not urge me to leave you or turn back from following you. Wherever you go, I will go, and wherever you live, I will live; your people will be my people, and your God will be my God. Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD punish me severely if anything but death separates you and me.” Later, God honoured this commitment, granting her favour in the eyes of Boaz, who became her husband. They were blessed with a son, Obed, the father of Jesse, the father of David, leading to the lineage of Jesus Christ. What an honour.

Surrender, submit, trust, and achieve success.

Dear Father, as Paul asked (Rom 8:31), is there anything You wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us? With You on our side, how can we lose? You didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and facing the worst by sending Your own Son. Is there anything else You wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us? Esther trusted You and fulfilled Your purpose in her life and in the Jewish community. Ruth trusted You and was guided into the lineage of Jesus Christ. We will trust You at all times, for You are good and worthy to be praised. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

ASK: Asking, Seeking and Knocking

ASK: Asking, Seeking and Knocking Reference: Jn 16:24 John 1:16 declares a staggering truth: "Of His fullness we have all received, and Grace for Grace." This is not a promise for someday—it is a present-tense doctrine. Ephesians 3:19 speaks of being filled with all the fullness of God. Philippians 4:19 assures us that every need is met according to His riches in the Glory. Mark 11:24 tells us that whatever we ask in prayer, believing, we will receive. Theologically, there is no gap. The fullness is already ours in Christ. So why don't we experience it? The gap is not theological—it is practical and relational. It lives in unbelief, in unprocessed doubt we've never brought into the light, and in asking that stopped—or never started. Fullness has been provided, but access is activated through asking. That is the secret, and it can happen anytime we decide. Jesus makes this explicit in John 16:24: "Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will rece...

A week to remember in my lifetime
