Negotiating

 Negotiating!!

Reference 1 Sam 1

One thing leads to another—I have heard this phrase many times. When I reflect on it, I am reminded of Hannah in the Bible, who poured out her heart to God with deep sincerity. She embraced God’s Word, hearing it during her family’s annual visit to the Temple, and she cherished those moments in His presence. In her devotion, she spent time with God, laying her desires before Him and making a heartfelt vow to seal her deal with commitment, trusting fully in His promises.

As prayer warriors, we need to gather ourselves often with willingness, quietly step away from distractions (a big skill), and enter His sanctuary, where God’s presence dwells. These three things—willingness, quietness, and sanctuary dwelling—are essential for positioning ourselves to commune with the Lord. When we look at Hannah in 1 Samuel 1, we can see all these elements at work, leading to God’s promises, actions, and outcomes.

Prayer is a form of negotiation we practice solely in God’s presence, using His Word and qualities to receive His promises.

Hannah prayed to the Lord—how? She cried, cried inconsolably. Then she made a vow: “Lord, look at me, stop neglecting me—take action for me by giving me a son. I will give him completely and unreservedly to You.” What a powerful moment that sparked a movement. Hannah’s heartfelt negotiation (prayer) brought forth Samuel. She entered a process—willingly and quietly—dwelling in the sanctuary, enduring hardship, mockery, and a weary soul. Yet, through steadfast prayer, she saw her request fulfilled. Samuel was born, later guiding nations and kings. Never underestimate the power of prayer; it can turn situations upside down and capture the direct attention of Elohim, who delivers “Samuels” to deliver (and lead) nations, kings, and transform circumstances. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Elisha Passed the Test

Elisha Passed the Test Ref 2 Kg 2:1-14 This scripture tells of the transitional journey Elijah and Elisha shared—walking and talking together. There was a push and pull, but in the end, determination prevailed. What are we willing to cross over for? If you asked Elisha, he would say everything, with all his might. He had watched Elijah closely over the years, never panicking but following with God’s peace alongside his master. Even when Elijah asked him to stay behind while he ran an errand as instructed by God, he refused to leave his side. He remained determined, persistent, loyal, collaborative, and eagerly anticipating this moment. In various significant places, such as the pushback, Gilgal (rolling away our shame), Bethel (where God is revealed), Jericho (walls falling), and the Jordan (crossing over), each holds its own unique meaning. We can relate these moments to our lives and give thanks to God for guiding us through overcoming Gilgal, experiencing Bethel, witnessing the fall...
