Living a life of Praise honours Yhwh and brings favour.

Ever wonder how to handle life’s toughest challenges with grace? Psalm 100 offers a powerful answer, inviting us to “enter His gates with Thanksgiving and His courts with Praise.” It’s not just about singing in church—it’s about making gratitude and Praise a way of life. Amen.

At its heart, Psalm 100 is a song of joyful surrender. It commands us to "serve the Lord with gladness" and to "know that the Lord, He is God" . But why should we be thankful? The psalm provides the rock-solid foundation for our Praise: He made us, we are His people, His steadfast love endures forever . This recognition of our dependence on Him is key.

• The Bible shows us that this posture of thanksgiving is the secret to receiving God's favour. Consider Abraham's servant, who when he saw God's provision for Isaac's wife, "bowed down his head and worshipped the Lord" . His immediate gratitude reflected that God's kindness is not to be taken for granted .
• Similarly, Ruth, a vulnerable widow, found astonishing favour in Boaz's eyes. Her response? Humble amazement and deep gratitude. She knew she didn't deserve it, and her thankful heart acknowledged the grace she received . As the saying goes, humility and thankfulness sleep in the same bed; a heart that knows it is unworthy is amazed by grace .
• Joab’s story in 2 Samuel 14 offers another example. When his risky request was granted, he "fell facedown, bowed in homage, and blessed the king" . He credited the authority for his success, showing that even a flawed leader like Joab knew that a prompt, specific thanksgiving acknowledges the source of all favour .

The message is simple: Thanksgiving draws us into God’s presence and opens us to His favour. When we begin by praising Him for who He is, we gain the strength to handle whatever comes our way. As the psalmist says, “He who offers thank offerings honours me, and prepares the way so that I may show him the salvation of God” (Psalm 50:23). Thanksgiving isn’t just a reaction—it’s a weapon, a way of life, a master key.

Dear Father, our Way Maker, a billion thanks for Your support and guidance; we praise You from the depths of our hearts. From the Bible, we see that many heroes praised before their breakthrough—Paul and Silas sang in chains, Daniel gave thanks facing death, and Moses, with his siblings, sang after deliverance. Thanksgiving opened the door to divine intervention, and Praise and Thanksgiving are not just responses to deliverance—they are the master key that unlocks it. Help us keep a thankful heart, which will keep us in God’s favour. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
