Indeed I have kept alert to God's ways

Indeed I have kept alert to God's ways

Reference- 2 Samuel 22:1-4, 7, 20-22 MSG

David prayed these words to God in song after being saved from all his enemies and from Saul. They can be our words too, as we praise Him for what He has done and for the things He is still working on for our good.

Many times, we don’t fully trust the Lord or surrender every part of our lives to Him. We need to be honest, without hypocrisy, and approach Him with openness from the heart. We often have our own reasons for not aligning with Him, and it’s easy to make excuses, but it’s far better to depend on Him.

David’s life was a true testament—God delivered him from his enemies and from Saul, through both small and great challenges. Yesterday, today, and forever, He saves us. In every season, in every place, in every situation, and under all conditions, God is good. His mercies endure forever, at all times. Hallelujah.

There are seven declarations I’ve repeated many times (there are plenty more in this single chapter, so let’s dig deeper when time permits).
  1. God stuck by me when I was down.
  2. God made my life completed when I places all pieces before Him.
  3. God gave me a fresh start when I cleaned up my act.
  4. God re-wrote the text of my life when I opened my heart to His eyes.
  5. Indeed, I have kept alert to God's ways.
  6. Indeed, I have not taken God for Granted.
  7. Indeed, I review the ways He works.
No wonder David chose to keep Yhwh as his top priority. The Lord described David as a man after His own heart—a remarkable honour to receive. There’s so much we can learn from his life, using those insights to explore and experience God’s ways and reflect on how He works within us.

Dear Father, David said that my God is my rock, my fortress, my deliverer, my shield, my salvation, my stronghold, my refuge, my mighty rock, my powerful weapon, my shelter. We also declare now that You are our solid rock beneath our feet, our castle where we dwell, our rescuing knight, our builder, our hideout, our protection, our Power, our place of safety, our high ridge, rocky summit, and towering stronghold. You are our trust, our refreshment, our defense, and our refuge. We praise You, O Lord, for You are worthy to be praised! The Lord should be praised! You are worthy of all our praises! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Boldness

Boldness Reference: Heb 4:12-16 We do not have to tiptoe toward God. We can always enter His presence—not only when in need, full, or facing challenges. His Word pierces soul and spirit, joints and marrow. He knows our thoughts and intentions before we ask or think. So the author of Hebrews urges us: boldly approach the throne of Grace. Receive daily bread, seasonal help, mercies, and Grace He has already arranged. In time of need, at the right time, He will help us. As Peter assured, submit obediently in His hand. Confidence: Not because the week went well. Not because your prayers feel mature. Because the curtain tore. Confidence isn't arrogance. It's knowing God left the door open.  The barrier didn't get thin—it split wide open. The King on the throne is also our High Priest. He knows our weakness from the inside. We are not interrupting Him. We have been invited. Gentle invitation. Urgent invitation. If Grace finds us and fills the room, what happens to the pressure to...

The Lifestyle of David - Faith, Trust and Prayer

The Lifestyle of David - Faith, Trust and Prayer Reference - 1 Sam 17, Ps 59 and 2 Sam 15 David was known as a man after God’s own heart, as witnessed by God Himself. The Bible reveals many reasons for this, but one of the most notable is his unwavering faith—trusting God completely and placing all his hope in the One who is more than able to guide him. I would like to discuss three scenarios and observe his responses to inspire our faith and draw us closer to Him. 1) When the Israelite army fled from Goliath, David stood his ground, boldly declaring the giant’s defeat before the fight even began, trusting entirely in the Name of the Lord rather than physical weapons. With a single stone, David struck Goliath down, vindicated God’s Name, routed the Philistine army, and proved to all that the battle belongs to the Lord. He proclaimed victory before the clash, relying not on spear, sword, or javelin, but on the Lord’s power. David said, in 1 Sam 17:45-47, “You come against me with sword,...

What have you done?” [36] Jesus answered, “My kingdom doesn't belong to this world. If it did, my followers would have fought to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish leaders. No, my...
