Reading scripture - John 18:33-37 CEVUK
[33] Pilate then went back inside. He called Jesus over and asked, “Are you the king of the Jews?” [34] Jesus answered, “Are you asking this on your own or did someone tell you about me?” [35] “You know I'm not a Jew!” Pilate said. “Your own people and the chief priests brought you to me. What have you done?” [36] Jesus answered, “My kingdom doesn't belong to this world. If it did, my followers would have fought to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish leaders. No, my kingdom doesn't belong to this world.” [37] “So you are a king,” Pilate replied. “You are saying that I am a king,” Jesus told him. “I was born into this world to tell about the truth. And everyone who belongs to the truth knows my voice.”

Matthew 12:21 CEVUK- All nations will place their hope in him.”

Luke 6:12-13 CEVUK- [12] About that time Jesus went off to a mountain to pray, and he spent the whole night there. [13] The next morning he called his disciples together and chose twelve of them to be his apostles.

He lives for ever, and his kingdom will never end. 36-37 CEVUK- At that time my mind was healed, and once again I became the ruler of my glorious kingdom. My advisers and officials returned to me, and I had greater power than ever before. [37] That's why I say: “Praise and honour the King who rules from heaven! Everything he does is honest and fair, and he can shatter the power of those who are proud.

Matthew 17:20-21 CEVUK- [20-21] Jesus replied: It is because you don't have enough faith! But I can promise you this. If you had faith no larger than a mustard seed, you could tell this mountain to move from here to there. And it would. Everything would be possible for you.

τηρήσετε (tērēsete)- you will guard, keep watch over Reference: John 14:15 — "If you love me, keep my commandments" — sits at a hinge point in Jesus's Farewell discourse, right before HE promises the Holy Spirit (the "Advocate"/Paraclete). Root verb: τηρέω (tēreō) — not the more common Greek word for "obey" (peithomai/hypakouō, meaning to submit to authority), but a word that literally means "to guard," "to watch over," "to keep watch". It's the word used for a guard keeping watch at a post, or someone safeguarding a treasure. Love is defined by obedience, not sentiment. Jesus doesn't say "if you love me, feel devoted to me" — he ties love to concrete action. In John's Gospel, love is verifiable; it shows up in behaviour, not just emotion. The Greek verb for "keep" (tērēsete) is future tense and follows a conditional — love isn't presented as a prerequisite for a transaction ("obey...

Moving Mountains: Why Prayer Transforms Everything

Moving Mountains: Why Prayer Transforms Everything “Have faith in God,” Jesus said (Mark 11:22). Simple words, yet they hold the key to a transformed life. In this single passage, Jesus gives us the ultimate spiritual equation:  Prayer + Faith + Forgiveness = Transformation.  But why is prayer so essential? Because it forces us to stop looking at our problems and start looking at our Provider. Without prayer, we rely on our own limited strength. With prayer, we tap into omnipotence itself. Jesus makes a staggering promise: “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (v. 24). This isn’t positive thinking; it’s supernatural authority. Prayer is effective because God backs His Word. When we speak to your “mountain” (our debts, illness, broken relationship) in faith, God moves on our behalf. But here is the transformative twist: prayer changes us before it changes our circumstances. Notice how Jesus ties prayer directly to forgiveness:...
