God has us where He wants us - Breaking Saul, Becoming Paul
Reference: Acts 9
Saul, once a fervent religious extremist, was transformed when God chose to claim him and place him precisely where He intended. The journey from Jerusalem to Damascus holds every detail of this profound transformation. It was an intense, 140-mile mission driven by fury to eradicate the followers of Christ—a mission sanctioned by the chief priest and spiritual leader but not approved by the Lord. God will halt what He does not permit, and so Saul was abruptly stopped, stunned by a blinding flash of light. In that moment, Jesus commanded him to go into the city, where he would be told what to do next.
God has us where He wants us....
Saul had order, but in a split second, the very people he was leading ended up guiding him after a heavenly encounter caused him to lose his sight. Realizing he had been doing the exact opposite of what was right in the name of religion, he experienced a relationship with God for the first time in his life. God changes what is not allowed, and Saul became Paul—a true transformation by His grace.
God has us where He wants us....
After Ananias prayed for him as instructed by the Lord and connected him with the local believers, Paul didn’t hesitate for a moment to share his encounter. His message remained consistent, whether among local believers or wherever God sent him. He preached without stopping—through trials, persecution, wilderness, nakedness, opposition, pressure, sickness, threats, crushing moments, emptiness, fullness, plenty, or lack—always declaring that Christ was his gain. Paul undertook at least three major missionary journeys covering about 15,000 miles, spending over 280 active days on the move, establishing churches, and inspiring the writing of most of the New Testament. We have countless teachings from Paul’s writings in the Bible, which form the foundation of our spiritual life. God will fulfil what He has planned.
God has us where He wants us.....
Lord, stop me, change me, take me, lead me, use me, establish me, and fulfil Your purpose according to Your timing, strategy, and plan. We are willing to be shaped by Your Word, not by the world. Just as You transformed Saul into Paul, we eagerly wait and wonder what You are producing in our lives, families, churches, and ministries. May Your will be done, Your Kingdom come, and Your purpose be fulfilled. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
