Great Are the Works of the Lord

*A Reflection on Psalm 111:1-10*

Hallelujah! I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart—not just with my words, but with everything I've got. His works are so magnificent, so vast and beautiful, that they are worth a lifetime of study, wonder, and praise.

When I look back over my journey, I see His hands at work everywhere. He rescued me when I was sinking. He has been caring for me, healing my wounds, protecting my steps, favouring me with Grace I don't deserve, and providing for my every need. He answers when I call, sees every tear I cry, guides my uncertain steps, and leads me through the darkness. He is sovereignly arranging all things for my good—straightening the crooked paths, levelling the mountains of impossibility, and filling the empty valleys of my soul.

He knows me completely. He delivers me from bondage and heals my brokenness. When the battles of life rage around me, He fights for me. He never sleeps; He watches over me constantly.

In light of who He is and all He has done, we join our voices with the psalmists of old and make this declaration our own:

  • "I will recount all Your wonders." (Psalm 9:1)
  • "I will Bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth." (Psalm 34:1)
  • "I will greatly Praise the Lord with my mouth." (Psalm 109:30)
  • "I will Praise the Lord as long as I live." (Psalm 146:1-2)

Alongside the prophet Isaiah, we join in making this confession as part of our worship:

"O Lord, You are my God! I will exalt You; I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things, You have worked wonders - plans formed long ago, faithful and sure - In perfect faithfulness" (Isaiah 25:1).

You alone are God. You are our God. You are the Lord, the Eternal One—from everlasting to everlasting. Great are the works of the Lord

Two expressions of surrender

Ruth 4:17 - A Son born to Naomi (through Boaz & Ruth) they named him Obed, the father of Jesse and David ( genealogy of Jesus) The challenges we face shouldn’t keep us from trusting Him, because God never stops working in those moments. His promises, purpose, and presence are always there for us to hold onto if we’re willing to open our hearts to Him. Esther’s life was far from easy or comfortable; she lost her parents and was cared for by her uncle Mordecai. By God’s favour, she was brought into the palace at Susa. Responding to a timely call, she joined her uncle through three days of prayer and fasting before carefully presenting her case to the king to seek his intervention. Her plea was heartfelt: “We’ve been sold, I and my people, to be destroyed—sold to be massacred, eliminated. If we had merel...

When Runners Are Called: How God Meets Us in Our Flight?

Shabbat Shalom from Kent, London- 15Aug2025 📍 Running Isn’t Always Rebellion Scripture Reference: Acts 7 In a world that celebrates boldness and strength, running is often seen as weakness. But Scripture tells a different story. Time and again, God meets people not in their triumphs, but in their retreats. Fear, shame, rejection, and confusion have driven many to flee—but those moments became divine turning points. This blog explores ten biblical figures who ran, hid, or withdrew… and how God called them in the very places they tried to escape. This message is for the leaders, learners, seekers, and servants. Whether you’re running from something or toward something, may you discover that God doesn’t just call the brave. He calls the broken, the weary, and yes—the runners. 🏃‍♂️ The Runners Who Were Called 1. Moses He fled Egypt after killing a man, rejected by his own people (Acts 7:29). In Midian, far from the palace, God called him through a burning bush. His flight became h...
