Great are the Works of the Lord

Great Are the Works of the Lord

*A Reflection on Psalm 111:1-10*

Hallelujah! I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart—not just with my words, but with everything I've got. His works are so magnificent, so vast and beautiful, that they are worth a lifetime of study, wonder, and praise.

When I look back over my journey, I see His hands at work everywhere. He rescued me when I was sinking. He has been caring for me, healing my wounds, protecting my steps, favouring me with Grace I don't deserve, and providing for my every need. He answers when I call, sees every tear I cry, guides my uncertain steps, and leads me through the darkness. He is sovereignly arranging all things for my good—straightening the crooked paths, levelling the mountains of impossibility, and filling the empty valleys of my soul.

He knows me completely. He delivers me from bondage and heals my brokenness. When the battles of life rage around me, He fights for me. He never sleeps; He watches over me constantly.

In light of who He is and all He has done, we join our voices with the psalmists of old and make this declaration our own:

  • "I will recount all Your wonders." (Psalm 9:1)
  • "I will Bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth." (Psalm 34:1)
  • "I will greatly Praise the Lord with my mouth." (Psalm 109:30)
  • "I will Praise the Lord as long as I live." (Psalm 146:1-2)

Alongside the prophet Isaiah, we join in making this confession as part of our worship:

"O Lord, You are my God! I will exalt You; I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things, You have worked wonders - plans formed long ago, faithful and sure - In perfect faithfulness" (Isaiah 25:1).

You alone are God. You are our God. You are the Lord, the Eternal One—from everlasting to everlasting. Great are the works of the Lord

I will Bless the Lord

I will bless the Lord, at all times...  Reference: Ps 34:1 - I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. One of the most important attitudes we can embrace in life is making it a habit to bless Him continually. I use the word “lifestyle” on purpose—it’s not just for when we feel like it, but also for when we don’t, because it’s essential. It’s not only about what we do, but who we are.  David’s steady commitment was clear in his words. He received countless blessings from the Lord even before he became well-known. Before everyone knew his name, the Lord knew him for his constant praise and gratitude. Out in the fields, tending sheep in the green pastures, he would sing, dance, and bless the Lord. That was David's preparation to the bigger assignments.  Verse 4 from this chapter really spoke to me: I sought the Lord, trusting in His word, and He answered me, delivering me from all my fears. So, I bless the Lord—Amen, Hallelujah. He...

If He said it, He will do it

Intercessory Monthly Meeting – May 2, 2026 Theme: If He said it, He will do it! 1. 15 intercessory warriors showed up – not in name only, but in spirit. - The atmosphere was desperate, eager, and hungry.   - Cases upon cases (prayer requests) were presented.   - Men and women shared words of encouragement and scriptures – all pointing to one truth: He is completely dependable AND TRUSTABLE. Our Declaration - If You said it, You will do it We echoed Paul in 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 – God Himself makes us holy and whole.   We started by thanking Him:  For who He is || For what He has done || For what He has already purposed   When we know that God Himself got into the business to make everything holy and whole – what else do we need? Amen! The Testimony of Determination - One warrior chose to stand in the gap over a haircut or personal chores. That’s the attitude of the **Canaanite woman** (Matthew 15) –   She kept calling. The discipl...

Prayer is tactical, transactional and transformative practice in the Bible.

Yes, prayer in the Bible is indeed **tactical**, **transactional**, and **transformative**. Each of these aspects highlights a different dimension of prayer, showing its depth and power in the life of a believer. Let’s explore these three dimensions with biblical examples and insights: --- ### **1. Prayer is Tactical** Prayer is a **spiritual weapon** and a strategic tool in the believer’s life. It is used to engage in spiritual warfare, seek God’s guidance, and advance His kingdom. - **Biblical Example**: **Ephesians 6:18**     Paul instructs believers to "pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests." This is part of the "armor of God," showing that prayer is a tactical weapon in spiritual battles.    - **Application**:     Prayer is not passive; it is an active, intentional practice to combat evil, break strongholds, and bring God’s will to earth. It is a way to align ourselves with God’s strategies and overcome th...
