Consider Him in Dec 2020

 🕑 12 mins

The author of Hebrew letter mentioned in 12:3 Consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Jesus showed His love to the mankind (Jn 3:16), fulfilment of the Father's Laws/commands to build the everlasting relationship (Mt 5:17) and distributed simplified commandments to the New Testament life (M7 22:37-40). One of the practical lessons that was outlined from His Life was on endurance (the ability to endure an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving way) & to consider Him who endured. Hallelujah.

  • The Life Jesus and His first set of apostles lived and went through the unpleasant or difficulties.
  • David said that Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Ps 23:4
  • Paul offered prayer to Colossians (Col 1: 10-11) so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all Power according to His Glorious might so that you may have full endurance and patience,...
  • Rom 5:3 says - Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance
  • James said ( 1:2-3) Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
  • 1 Peter 5:8 says - Be sober-minded; be watchful & 1 Pt 4:12 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you.
  • Apostle John mentions (8:32) And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
  • Psalmist in 100:5 declared, For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever (2020 and beyond), and His faithfulness to all generations.

Father God, help us not to loose heart in the day of distress. Father, Thank you for offering peace and courage in the midst of trials and challenges (in 2020). The troubles we are facing did not catch you by surprise, neither are they outside of your control. Help us to take heart in the midst of our troubles by remembering your finished work. *You are a good and faithful God*, and we Praise you for giving us strength and endurance in 2020 . Help us to consider Your foot steps, place our hope continuously (2020 and beyond), not in the things of this world, but in You and You alone. Like Parable of the Sower confirms that like the seed in the good soil bear fruit with perseverance, help us to preserve the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruits always. As David mentioned that we are declaring that we have set the LORD always before us. Because He is at our right hand, we will not be shaken. Therefore our hearts are glad and our tongues rejoice (Ps 16:8-9), In Jesus's Name, Amen.

Do not make light of the Lord's discipline

⏲ 20 mins

My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you- Heb 12:5

Are we following Jesus Christ and allowing Him to correct us and rebuke us when we deviate from His radar (at times)?

As we know that the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastens everyone He accepts as His son. (Heb 12:7)

If you endure discipline, God is treating you as sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline?

When Jesus wanted to teach His immediate team on serving nature and humble approach, He washed their feet by showing as His example (The Son of God touching and washing the feet of the followers). He did not expect them to wash His feet on return, however Jesus asked an important question? Do you understand what I have done to you?

Two approach that we can apply from this context

  1. Are we understanding what Jesus done to us?
  2. Are we clear what we have done to others like Him?

Some Free flow thoughts on the subject called teaching areas that Jesus Focused and asked the disciples to do the better things.

Be a servant
Be humble
Do to others as I washed your feet.
Do to others as you want them to do
Do Love
Do obey
Do give
Do listen
Do go
Do keep
Do Pray
Do serve
Do suffer
Do show the other cheek
Do walk to 2 miles
Do forgive and prove that you're my disciple
Do not give up - Jesus in the Wilderness
Be fruitful

Do follow Jesus.

We want blessing without cross.
We want favour with out prayer
We want things to be done first then decide to follow Jesus.
We want position, procession without paying the price that is required.
We want the first place without practice.

In other words, don’t be satisfied with a level 7 humility. Pursue level 10 humility. You can never be humble enough. Compared to 20 years ago, I am much humbler. God has been at work in me through the various ministry experiences I have had. My fellowship with other believers has also helped me to grow in humility.

Be joyful.

Joy is like engine oil. Even when high temperatures strain the engine, the oil keeps everything functioning smoothly. Joy is evidence that God is at work in our lives.
when we consistently acknowledge his work, embrace his promises, and receive his forgiveness, joy begins to bubble up—even in the midst of adverse and confusing circumstances.

Jesus wanted his disciples to be full of joy (John 15:11). Nehemiah told a tearful group of returned exiles that the joy of the Lord was their strength (Neh. 8:10). Paul filled one of his letters with joyful words and told his readers to rejoice in the Lord always (Phil. 4:4). David said fullness of joy is found in God’s presence (Psalm 16:11). And Moses asked God to satisfy his people with unfailing love so they could sing for joy and be glad all their days (Psalm 90:14). According to Scripture, our joy is a big deal to God.

When we experience the joy of the Lord, our circumstances may not change, but our perspective on them is radically altered.

Regular seasons of prayer are the key to maintaining our experience of God’s joy

Do serve

If anyone serves Me, he must [continue to faithfully] follow Me [without hesitation, holding steadfastly to Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me]; and wherever I am [in heaven’s glory], there will My servant be also. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.
John 12:26 AMP

Do Intercede, Pray

Father God, keep me alert to the evil one with spiritual eyes wide open as You use me to make a difference for eternity by helping other people come to know, grow in, and live for You.

So then let us not sleep [in spiritual indifference] as the rest [of the world does], but let us keep wide awake [alert and cautious] and let us be sober [self-controlled, calm, and wise].
1 Thessalonians 5:6 AMP

At the same time pray for us, too, that God will open a door [of opportunity] to us for the word, to proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I have been imprisoned;
Colossians 4:3 AMP

Father God, I pray as well for each member of my family and my pastor(s), church staff, and fellow believers. May they suit up in Your armor and experience victory by Your power.

Does true prayer include making requests of God? Sure it does. God encourages us to cast our cares on him, because he really does care for us. But the requests of true prayer are always in the context of surrender and celebration. It is surrender and celebration that keep those requests from being selfish demands or bitter complaints. This kind of prayer is a tool of God’s grace in your life. As you put God in his proper place and celebrate your place as his child, prayer becomes a tool God uses to free you from your bondage to you. Now, that’s grace!

Do Forgive

If you forgive anyone anything, I too forgive [that one]; and what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of [and with the approval of] Christ, to keep Satan from taking advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his schemes.
2 Corinthians 2:10‭-‬11 AMP

Be Patience

Patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting] Galatians 5:22‭-‬23 AMP

Do not give up

And do not give the devil an opportunity [to lead you into sin by holding a grudge, or nurturing anger, or harbouring resentment, or cultivating bitterness].
Ephesians 4:27 AMP

Do Obey to God

The enemy may come against you, but obey to the God, by seeking & keeping His commandments, by reading, listening, walking with Him.
Satan [the adversary] stood up against Israel and incited David to count [the population of] Israel.
1 Chronicles 21:1 AMP

But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and [secretly] keep back for yourself some of the proceeds [from the sale] of the land?
Acts 5:3 AMP.

Lord, when Satan goes after the core of who I am—telling me I’m a worthless sinner, a lost cause, an embarrassment to You—remind me of whose I am and who You say I am . . . a saint, a new creation, Your beloved child.

Do Obey

After He was found in [terms of His] outward appearance as a man [for a divinely-appointed time], He humbled Himself [still further] by becoming obedient [to the Father] to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also [because He obeyed and so completely humbled Himself], God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, and that every tongue will confess and openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord (sovereign God), to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:8‭-‬9‭, ‬11 AMP

Do correct

You must submit to [correction for the purpose of] discipline; God is dealing with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? Hebrews 12:7 AMP

Correction is the painful.
Everyone is/must going through it
Outcome of correction is change.
Paul at Damascus road
Peter at the mountain, Gathsemane.
David at Ps 51
Esther vs Mordagai

What type of correction?

Fear1, by thinking about future
Fear2, to face a challenge
Fear3, what to speak and what not, learning a lesson to keep quite.
Fear4, religious vs relationship
Fear5, listening to the correct voice
Fear6, confidence - Paul said, Brothers and sisters, I do not consider that I have made it my own yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead. Philippians 3:13 AMP.
Fear 7, Sufferings. Correction process brings change, joy but a price to be paid.

Be fruitful, the first command

We must be willing to leave the external standards of success, because they can hinder the producing of fruit. God intentionally prunes away these things from our lives, so that we no longer pursue the acknowledgement of others, but produce the fruit that He desires instead. God doesn’t want leaves, He wants fruit.

Remain in Me, and I [will remain] in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself without remaining in the vine, neither can you [bear fruit, producing evidence of your faith] unless you remain in Me. John 15:4 AMP.

2020 Prayer

Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour. But resist him, be firm in your faith [against his attack—rooted, established, immovable], knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being experienced by your brothers and sisters throughout the world. [You do not suffer alone.] After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace [who imparts His blessing and favor], who called you to His own eternal glory in Christ, will Himself complete, confirm, strengthen, and establish you [making you what you ought to be].
1 Peter 5:8‭-‬10 AMP

Individual Prayer to obedience

Being ready to punish every act of disobedience, when your own obedience [as a church] is complete. 2 Corinthians 10:6 AMP

Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life.
Proverbs 4:23 AMP

Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you;

and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18‭-‬20.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

Secret of Prayer is Praying in Secret

 🕑 10 mins

Prayer Changes Everything !!!

Trust in God that he will give you the confidence to continue with His plans, even when you encounter opposition. In good times and hard times, Nehemiah looked up to God: ‘The God of heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding’. Don’t allow opposition to deflect you from your God-given task – trust God and get on with the job. Look up and trust God to give you success.

The Lord favours those who fear and worship Him [with awe-inspired reverence and obedience], Those who wait for His mercy and lovingkindness. Psalms 147:11 AMP

Please, O Lord, let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant and the prayer of Your servants who delight to [reverently] fear Your Name [Your essence, Your nature, Your attributes, with awe]; and make Your servant successful this day and grant him compassion in the sight of this man [the king].” F or I was cupbearer to the king [of Persia]. Nehemiah 1:11 AMP

And the king granted me what I asked, for the good hand of my God was upon me. Nehemiah 2:8 AMP

Secret of Prayer is Praying in Secret

Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face continually [longing to be in His presence]. 1 Chronicles 16:11 AMP

Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way]. Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6 AMP

He doesn’t want us to strive towards purpose, but to stride.

Now it is God who establishes and confirms us [in joint fellowship] with you in Christ, and who has anointed us [empowering us with the gifts of the Spirit];
2 Corinthians 1:21 AMP

God is writing a story that no man will be able to take credit for. You are marked, you are anointed, but will you trust God to handle how you’re appointed?

There are books, inventions, healing words, and prayers that can only be produced by you!
When you’re marked you must know that God anointed HIS creation, not YOUR creation. Because you are God’s masterpiece, created in His image, He wants to use you exactly how you are. God cannot bless who you pretend to be, but He desires to bless who He created you to be.

If we do not operate in the specific anointing that was placed over our lives, we limit the ability to be used in the fullness of our capacity. God has called us to represent Him differently, which means that in our sphere of influence, using the anointing given to us, we are called to give, show, and promote God in a way that only WE can. We were marked for a purpose on purpose and because of the beauty of our differences, God has a perfectly crafted plan to reach the lost and found for transformation in Christ.
-Pastor Michael Todd, Lead Pastor, Transformation Church in Tulsa, OK

Just as each one of you has received a special gift [a spiritual talent, an ability graciously given by God], employ it in serving one another as [is appropriate for] good stewards of God’s multi-faceted grace [faithfully using the diverse, varied gifts and abilities granted to Christians by God’s unmerited favour]. Whoever speaks [to the congregation], is to do so as one who speaks the oracles (utterances, the very words) of God. Whoever serves [the congregation] is to do so as one who serves by the strength which God [abundantly] supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified [honoured and magnified] through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
1 Peter 4:10‭-‬11 AMP

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God [set aside self-righteous pride], so that He may exalt you [to a place of honour in His service] at the appropriate time,
1 Peter 5:6 AMP

You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. Psalms 16:11 AMP

The grace of the Lord Jesus (the Christ, the Messiah) be with all [the saints—all believers, those set apart for God]. Amen. Revelation 22:21 AMP

FAITH Matters

For this reason, when I could no longer endure the suspense, I sent someone to find out about your faith [how you were holding up under pressure], for fear that somehow the tempter had tempted you ... 1 Thessalonians 3:5 AMP

By Faith we open our hearts and minds to say 'Big Thank You' for your guidance during this year so far.

Be Faith we are entering into this new month by declaring that we are sticking with you, cling on you and trust you further no matter what. We are holding You under this pressure, unprecedented and uncertain times.

For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin. Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of Grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].

Shabbat Shalom from Kent, London.

My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast and confident! I will sing, yes, I will sing praises [to You]! I will praise and give thanks to You, O Lord, among the people; I will sing praises to You among the nations. For Your faithfulness and lovingkindness are great, reaching to the heavens, And Your truth to the clouds. Be exalted above the heavens, O God; Let Your glory and majesty be over all the earth.
Psalms 57:7‭, ‬9‭-‬11 AMP

David’s steadfast heart came from God’s steadfast love. He took joy in God because God had already taken joy in him. And he had learned to rest in this even while hiding in a cave! This is the secret to the Christian life. Our settled security does not come from anywhere or anyone but God! A stable heart comes from holding onto the stable One.
